There is nothing that I am more passionate about than telling stories. I enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University as an animation and video student so that I could learn how to tell better stories.
As a student, I focused on animation and video production, two media that are surprisingly similar when it comes down to the bare bones of them, with a bit of creative writing on the side. Once I graduated, I became a graphic designer at the broadcast hub MGFX, creating graphics for various news stations across the country. Both experiences have taught me about animation and video techniques, about working as part of a team and meeting deadlines, and of course, about the tools of the trade, from the Adobe creative suite to Maya to Cinema 4D.
I'm always looking to learn everything I can, from new techniques and effects in Photoshop or After Effects, to new methods of creation, to fun facts about the world as a whole. There's always so much more to discover, and who knows what might spark the next brilliant idea?
When it comes down to it, fiction has always been and will always be my greatest inspiration to continue to make art. I hope one day to be the one creating the stories that inspire other people like me.
